Weddings
Here are some key things for a couple to consider when choosing the best wedding photographer for the big wedding day:
- Style – Look at photographers’ portfolios to find one whose style matches what you want. Do you prefer posed portraits or candid photojournalistic moments? Traditional or artistic creative photos? This helps narrow options.
- Personality – Meet with the wedding photographer to get a sense of their personality and communication style. Do they listen well and “get” your vision? You’ll be spending a lot of time together on your big day.
- Experience – Ask about their wedding photography experience, specifically your wedding type (church, beach, etc) and size. Also ask if they have shot at your wedding venue before. Consider if they do engagement photography and what those photos look like.
- Technical skills – Determine what gear and technical skills they have like lighting expertise, backup equipment, photo editing and retouching skills. Ask how many wedding photos (approx.) you will receive.
- Comfort level – Most importantly, choose a photographer who makes you and your fiancé comfortable and relaxed. You’ll get the best shots working with someone you connect with.
